July 6 – Show, Guide, and Teach

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”  Psalm 25:4-5 (NIV)

These words for today come from a prayer by the psalmist David. This is a prayer that any of us can pray if we have believed in Jesus as our Savior. We can pray this way any time of the day or night. Whatever the time of day it is where you are as you read this it is a good time to rely on this promise. Our verse speaks of hope and we remind you that Christian hope is not wishful thinking or fingers crossed kind of hope that is commonplace today. For us our hope in God is confident expectation. Our verse speaks of a hope that is confident expectation focused on God. We can confidently expect God to help us in the morning, throughout the day, in the evening and anytime at night. Let's trust the God of our salvation and wait on him all the day as he teaches us His ways, His paths, and His truth.
