September 4

“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!”  Isaiah 30:18 (NIV)

These are words which were addressed to a people who were not always willing to obey God. They often wandered off and went their own way trying to please themselves. What really impresses me is the attitude of the Lord toward a people who failed to live the way they should. The Lord was still patient with them hoping for an opportunity to help them. Our God has not changed. He is still longing to be gracious to us, waiting for us to look to Him for help. And when we do, He begins to act. He rises to show His compassion and love. When we trust Him and ask for His help He begins to respond. Take these words for yourself.
