“Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.” Psalm 33:22 (ESV)
The last verse in Psalm 33 is a short prayer. This is really a prayer of faith. When we think of God's love as enduring and never failing, that is faith. We believe that God loves us and always will. The “steadfast love” can also be rendered as “unfailing love” and we can believe that God loves us and always will. Our verse also mentions our hope and of course that is not wishful thinking, it is expectation. When we expect God to show us His love that is also faith. So, in faith, let's expect God to demonstrate his steadfast love to us. And, let's expect it to be not a once in a while experience but a lasting all time experience. That's what it means to have God's love resting upon us all the time. God's love is with us all the time, that is a promise God has given to us and we can trust in it with a hope that will not disappoint us – not ever.

April 24 – No Disappointment. No Distinction.
“For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;” Romans 10:11-12 (NASB)
Our great God is the one in control of this whole universe. He has given us all life, no matter where we were born, no matter what our racial background is. Now that we are living here on this earth, He looks for something from us to determine how He treats us. We read here how we must put our trust in Him – and when we do we will not be let down. We also read here that He blesses those who call on Him. So God's blessing is His special response to the ones who call on Him in faith and trust through belief. Racial and ethnic distinctions make no difference to God and should not make a difference to us. God does not make distinctions that way. But faith does make a big difference. Let's not miss out on what God has given us. Instead, let's look to Him today because that is where blessings from Him come to us. His promise is we will not be disappointed.

January 23 – No Disappointing Hope
“Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” Isaiah 49:23 (NIV)
The words of today's verse are part of a special prediction that God wanted His people to hear. The message was given to God's prophet Isaiah and delivered to his people. Although we don't believe that this specific prediction in the first part of the verse applies directly to us today, we are fully confident that the promise of hope we have read just now, do apply to us. We have this confidence because God doesn't change. He is still the same as He was in Isaiah's day. Perhaps we have found ourselves disappointing because we have placed our confidence and expectation in someone that has let us down. God will not let us down. When He keeps His promise to us it confirms for us that He is our God. When He answers our prayer it reminds us that He is true. God said in our verse that we will not be disappointed when we place our hope, our expectation in Him. He will always fulfill our expectation of His promises. Today is a good day to look to Him to fulfill His promises.
