“He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:5-6 (NASB)
Isn’t it a good thing to know what is ahead in our future? While, we can’t know all the detail of our life and we are not, nor do we seek fortune tellers to scam us out of money with imaginary things that will never happen. But if we are in Jesus Christ through faith believing, we know, from His Word that we are chosen in Him, then we also know some things that have been promised to us. Everywhere in the world there are people who believe in sticks, wooden idols, special trees in the forest or mountains far off and put what trust they have in these earthly created things. But they get nothing true from them except evil influences. Those who believe in Jesus Christ can know this; we have been adopted as heirs and it was done in God’s plan and promise to save us. It is God who wills by His perfect and kind intention to cover us with grace and declare us righteous. We respond with sacrifices of praise and glory, these also given to us by God. We have nothing to offer that God has not first given to us freely and unconditionally.
