“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7 (ESV)
What do we have to trust in for our daily battles? Yes, we are in a battle every day. Some days are not so tough but some other days are really rough going. Like when we or our family or friends face critical health issues. Today's verse and promise give us a good answer. In the time that King David wrote this song, chariots pulled by horses were the leading weapon on the battlefield. So were the horses under the warriors. David took part in many such battles and he had learned that it was better to trust in God for victory. God had helped him many times and He would continue to help him and the people he was leading. For us the lesson is that we need to trust in God for the solution to our problems. Some might think that there would be other things, other plans of a human nature which bring us through. But there is nothing better than simply trusting in God, nothing better than letting God provide His solution to our problems.
