“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3 (NIV)
We can rejoice to know that our salvation comes to us when we put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. To know that we are saved from our sins does give us joy. But when our verse today speaks of the wells of salvation we believe that it means more than just the one experience of becoming saved. It is true that we take a drink from the wells of salvation at the time when we are saved and receive salvation by faith. But, we also live by faith. After we are saved we can continue to drink from the wells of salvation. No other drink will satisfy and bring the joy that comes from this life-giving well. Think now of all the benefits we have from God because our salvation made us children of God. These many benefits give us joy. Let's keep drinking from the wells of salvation every day, trusting in God our Father every day and having our thirst quenched and our needs met. It's a promise given to us by God.
