“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17 (NIV)
The promises of God, which we look at daily on this blog, are given on the basis of faith. We are saved and become children of God by faith. There is nothing we can do to be good enough to be saved any other way. We also need faith to live the Christian life each day. So if faith is so important, it is well to remember where faith comes from. Our verse today tells us that faith comes from hearing messages from God. When we heard about Jesus sacrificing himself and dying for us isn't that what gave us faith to believe and accept him as our Savior? When we read our Bibles, doesn't our faith grow? The same thing happens when we hear the teaching and preaching of God's messages. So, if we want our faith to grow we need to listen to God's messages about Christ. Let's keep listening to what God has to tell us today and tomorrow – it will cause our faith to grow.
