“God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:9 (NIV)
We are often reminded that our God is faithful in keeping His promise to us. Our verse today speaks of God faithfulness in a special sense. We read in our verse that we have been called by God into fellowship with His Son, Jesus. It is God the Father's desire for each of us to be in close fellowship which means a close relationship with His Son. He wants His Son to share with us His eternal and heavenly blessings and he wants us to share with Jesus in a meaningful way in real companionship. The promise is that since God is faithful and it is He who calls us into this fellowship with Himself, we can know that it is possible. Yes, even during those times that we feel distant we can know and trust the fact that we are in a relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord. He is with us – always and forever.
