“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us…” Ephesians 5:1-2a (NIV)
These words remind us of what often happens in a loving family here on earth. They remind us how a child growing up in a loving family watches its parents and often tries to imitate what it sees a mother or father doing. Even after we grow up we may be reminded of how our Christian parents did something or how they loved us and we have a desire to love as they did. This can be applied to our relationship with our God, as we are conscious of our loving Heavenly Father and we want to be like Him. We want to imitate Him in many ways and especially by loving others as He loves us. Christ set for us an example the we want to follow and walk in the way of love.
