When Jesus was here He sometimes made statements to reveal His purpose for coming. One such statement was made in connection with His teaching about Himself as the Good Shepherd. As the Good Shepherd Jesus laid down His life for us His sheep. That is how you and I can have life – eternal life. If you have trusted in Him as your Savior, you do have this eternal life. But did you notice that He added some more words? He said He came that we might have life to the full – full of all the joy and peace that He can give. So when you think of the Babe in Bethlehem, remember we can have life full of blessing because He came.
