The psalmist had come to know his Shepherd and here expressed his faith in the Lord, His Shepherd. He had the assurance that he would be taken care of as long as he lived on earth. The goodness and love of God would be a part of his daily experience. And this is true for us who follow the Shepherd even now. We can experience His goodness and love each day, and can have the same assurance David had about life in eternity. There is an eternal home awaiting us too. So, let’s be encouraged!
