It is because we have trusted in Christ as our Savior. When we come to God expecting Him to do for us what He has promised, we don’t put our confidence in what we have done, but in what Jesus has done for us. We approach God in the name of Jesus, and we can remind God of His promise to us in the same way – in the name of Jesus. If we are truly trusting in Jesus, God’s answer will be “Yes” according to the promise of this verse.

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV)
