“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31 (NIV)
We can know that one of the reasons that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world was to reveal to His human kind what He was like. Jesus came to teach much about His Father, about our God. Jesus came from heaven and had full knowledge what is going on there. He knew how closely God is watching what goes on here on earth. The verse we have today are just part of what Jesus revealed to His followers. It is wonderful to be reminded how much God is involved in our lives and in our world. Yes, God watches the sparrows but He also watches us and takes care of us. Our promise is that we are more valuable to God than the sparrows He created and yet He knows exactly how many sparrows there are. We should know that God takes notice of us. Let's remember this today as we go about our lives, we have no need to be afraid, God is taking care of us and to Him we are worth much more than many sparrows.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Psalm 32:8 (NIV)
We must never think that we have to live the Christian life on our own. God has promised to be with us all the way. Isn’t that what this verse tells us? God is with us all the way. He doesn’t just help us in the important decisions, once in awhile. His instruction and His guidance is available day after day, hour after hour. He is watching our every step along the way. So how do we benefit from this promise? It is by being conscious of His constant presence and watch-care. Instead of thinking that we are living our lives by ourselves, let us be aware of His constant care and listen for His voice.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 (NIV)
“No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.” John 10:18a (NIV)
Do you sometimes wonder if God really cares about the problems you encounter? These words remind us that He does care. If you have believed in this Jesus you are one of His sheep. Jesus gave His life to bring you into the fold. It is wonderful to know that He offered Himself for us. That is what He said about the way He lay down his life for us, His sheep, cannot we trust Him to do what is best for us every day? The love that inspired Him to willingly die for us continues to work in our behalf today.
