“And it will be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”” - Isaiah 25:9 (NASB)
It is pretty easy and common for Christians today to think that every promise from God to the nation of Israel belongs to all people. He oversees their land as he does for the people of Israel. There is no division or difference between any who believe in Jesus. We are all one and the same people of God. It is also true that prophecies given directly to the people of Israel in olden times were first for Israel and not specifically for all believers globally. Although the primary application of this prophecy in our verse of promise today was for the people of Israel who would trust in their Lord, we believe that it applies to us, too. When we do trust in Him, He proves faithful to His promise. As we realize that He does come to help us, we recognize Him as our God. We trust in our Lord for the salvation from sin that He offers. When He saves us, we learn to acknowledge Him to be the One He claims to be. Does not this give us true joy? Recognize today that “He is the Lord” and rejoice in His salvation.
