January 4 –Through Floods and Through Fires

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”  - Isaiah 43:2 (ESV)

God promises to be with us through any trial by obstacle we might encounter. The verse does not say “If you pass through waters…”  It does say, “When you pass through waters…”  We will face times while proceeding in faith, where we may end up in circumstances over our head.  Other times if our situation is not so deep but it is fast and furious, and the risks are such we might lose our footing and get swept away.  God is with us whatever trials he allows to come our way. When circumstances present other dangers, God is still with us.  If we are faced with having to navigate a difficult or intensely difficult path, we are protected by God's grace. No matter how hot things get He keeps us from being scorched by the fire. In fact, the promise for us is we will not be burned or consumed by the fire if we trust and have faith in God's promises.  Floods overwhelm and fires consume but God promises to be our protector and protection. Let's walk in the comfort of these promises each day.
