“The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalm 147:11 (NIV)
Does it make any difference to us what the Lord thinks of us? We believe that most of us really want to live in a way to please the Lord. We believe that we want God to be delighted in us. The idea of delight might conger up different meanings. As a verb it means to please someone greatly or to take great pleasure in something or someone. As a noun we think of finding great pleasure or being the source of pleasure. So, let us see what we can do to be a source of great pleasure of our Lord God. The first thing we are told here is that we need to fear and reverence our God. We need to show Him our full respect. When we do He will take pleasure in us. The other thing mentioned is that we need to depend on God’s unfailing love. As we keep His love in mind all the way through the circumstances we face, He will favor us. Think today of ways to cause God delight and favor toward us.
