“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.” Isaiah 54:10 - (NASB)
Today we have a promise that we can cling to tightly. The promise is that NOTHING can remove God's love from us. Even if the mountains collapse and move and the hills shake – something we have seen in the mighty power of volcanoes, and earthquakes and floods – we can know that God's lovingkindness is steadfast. God promises that He cannot stop loving us with whom He has chosen and made a covenant of peace. These words were given first to His people through His prophet Isaiah, but we can rest with confidence that the same promise is for us today as well. Earlier in this prophecy (vs. 3) God promises that its message will spread to all nations and cities through the people of Promise. There are things in this world which do change due to catastrophic events but God does not and His word is trustworthy. His love is steadfast and will never end – it will be ours forever.
