“He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” 1 Peter 1:21 (ESV)
The promise of our salvation through Jesus Christ was known before the foundation of the world was created by God. It has been a part of God's plan since the beginning. In the letter by the Apostle Peter and the verses proceeding the ones selected for today, Peter says that we can know for certain that our redemption was not purchased with silver or gold or any material temporal things but only with the precious blood of Christ. Because when Jesus died on the cross and was buried, it was God His Father who raised him from the dead and gave Him glory in a new life. This is what is promised for us. This is why we can have faith and hope in God. He planned it for us and He has accomplished it for us and all who choose to believe by faith and receive the free gift of eternal life. Consider it given and delivered in Christ.
