“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
God gave His people this promise at a time when many felt that they had been deserted by God. Because of their rebellion to God, He allowed them to be conquered and taken captive and exiled to another country far from their homeland. But God also wanted them to know that He was still with them and that He would respond to them if their attitude of seeking Him was right. We believe that this promise is still good for us today. God does respond to us when we look to Him if our hearts are right. He wants us to seek Him and His help without any mixed motives or purposes. We must desire that His will be done and that His purpose be accomplished in the situations which we face. We don't find him when we seek him with selfish motives such as riches, political outcome, or for our own strategic advantage. We find God when we look with the real motive that His will be done in and through our lives, when our hearts are in it for God's glory and honor.
