“For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.” Psalm 48:14 (NIV)
We know that the Psalms in our Bible are songs which God's people have sung for many centuries. In Psalm 48 we find a testimony in verse 14 which we can sing today. We can join with people of long ago in proclaiming that we will always trust in our God. He has been faithful to us since the very beginning of our life of faith. We would never want to change our allegiance to Him and now at the beginning of the year we renew our pledge of allegiance. We also recognize that our God will be our guide as long as we live. We will look to Him because He has promised His guidance each day. As we turn to Him for wisdom to make right decisions we know He will show us what is best for us. And even though we may not know how He does it, or even when He does it, we do know He is leading us step by step all the way through life. Let's join the singing of this song today. To the end of our time, our God will be our God and our guide.
