“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.” Jude 20-21 (NASB)
This verse is from the letter by Jude which is itself so short there are no chapter divisions given to it. This verse encourages God's people to live by faith. We all remember that it is by faith in Jesus as our Savior that we are saved and become children of God. It is also true that we live our own Christian lives by faith and therefore faith is the basis for our living each day. We are encouraged today to increase our faith every day. We need to recognize that this is possible. The more we know about God's promises to care for our needs the more we will trust Him. We do this by praying in the Holy Spirit. God has promised us eternal life is ours through our merciful and loving Lord Jesus Christ. And, all this is what is happening as we build ourselves up in faith as our verse today encourages us to do.
