September 11 – Loving Eyes Watching

“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,” Psalm 33:18 (NIV)

We know that God knows everything and sees all that is going on in this world.  But when we think of the eyes of the Lord being on someone, we feel that it has special meaning and something we would want to be true for ourselves.  Don't we really all want God's eyes to be on us in this special way?  So who is this promise for?  It is for those who fear the Lord which means those who show Him the respect He deserves.  Our verse also says the promise is for those whose hope is in His unfailing love.  The Bible word hope means assured expectation, so this verse encourages us to constantly expect to experience God's unfailing love in our lives.  So let's respect the Lord today and let's expect Him to always show us His love.  That is the promise we have today and every day.
