“...for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.” John 16:27 (NASB)
One of the last promises which Jesus gave His disciples before He was crucified can be our promise today. We know that God loves the world and that's why He sent His Son to be our Savior. The words of Jesus which we have just read go beyond that. Jesus wanted His disciples to know that God the Father has a special love for those who love His Son. God sent His Son because He loved His creation and creatures. When we accept Jesus we are responding to this love which God pours out on us – His special love. So if we want to experience God's special love – the love of the Father for His children – let's be sure that we express to God our love for His Son. That's how Jesus made the promise in today's verse.
