“Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11 (ESV)
Yesterday, we read how Gideon, in the Old Testament book of Judges, learned to know God as the “LORD of Peace”. In the New Testament we find references to our Lord as the “God of Peace.” Paul the apostle often used this as a closing to the letters he wrote. God is a God of peace and what a wonderful promise of His presence with us is found in these closing words of his last letter to the church in Corinth. Isn't it the desire of our hearts to know the peace which our God can give? What a joy then to know that peace is a part of His nature and He wants to share it with us. As we allow Him to be a part of our lives today, we will experience His peace. That is what it means to know the God of love and peace.
