“In those days, at that time,” declares the Lord, “search will be made for Israel’s guilt, but there will be none, and for the sins of Judah, but none will be found, for I will forgive the remnant I spare.” Jeremiah 50:20 (NIV)
This verse today has a wonderful promise from God and we can learn something about His grace and his mercy – it tells us about God's forgiveness. The promise here, of course, is about God's dealings with the people of Israel, His people, and how He promised that He would forgive their sins. We worship the same God because there is only one God. We believe that Jeremiah's God is the same today and we read that when God forgives sin it can no longer be found; it's gone. Believe this because when we confess our sins and our failures to Him He wipes the slate clean and we can start serving Him again with a clear conscience. Isn't He a wonderful God? Believe today that God's forgiveness means our confessed sins cannot be found.
