“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 (NIV)
These words were written to children of God, like us, who were concerned about false teaching which they were hearing. It was true then as it is now that there were people teaching ideas contrary to God's Word. When we hear worldly ideas presented in one way or another we need to remember that God has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us into truth. He is the Spirit of God and He lives in us if we have believed in Jesus. He wants to show us the right way and He'll gives us the ability to walk and live the right way. Let's thank God for the way He leads us and helps us to live. Remember what our verse says, God in us is greater than the false teachers in the world. A promise you can trust.
