“…to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Ephesians 1:6 (NIV)
There are many reasons for praising our God. One of these reasons is given in the Bible verse chosen for today. Our verse reminds us to praise God for His glorious grace. We remember that grace is unmerited favor. When God does something good for us, which we don’t really deserve, then He is showing us His grace. Our verse also reminds us that God has demonstrated His grace to us in His beloved Son, The One he loves. We didn’t deserve to have Jesus die for us. We haven’t deserved to be accepted into God’s family by believing in Jesus as our Savior – it is all by grace that we have been saved. When we come to God in the name of Jesus asking for help in our daily needs and problems we still don’t deserve His help but he helps because of and by God’s grace and that is what our verse is about.
