January 14

“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)

God has always loved His human beings whom he created and has been anxious that his creatures know of His love for them. This was one of the reasons why He chooses the prophet Jeremiah almost 3000 years ago to remind His people of His love. We have Jeremiah’s writings to remind us of the same truth today. The love of God produces precious results for us today. Our verse tells us that because God loves us He is drawing us to Himself. Just as He drew people to Himself in Jeremiah’s day so He draws us closer and closer to Himself today. Yes, my friend, God is drawing you to Himself because He loves you. Let us be sure we come close to Him and stay that way. Let us listen to His words in our verse, “I have loved…”
