What a great difference it makes to really love God. There is a marvelous reward promised to those who love Him. It is a crown of life. It is the privilege of living forever with God in His presence. Did you notice what the other advantage is that from loving God? This verse tells us that this same reward, the crown of life, comes to those who remain true under testing. That means that it is love for God that keeps us true when our faith is tested. If we truly love Him we will stand the test!

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 (NIV)
