Jesus is sending messages through the apostle John to the seven churches existing during John’s time. These words reveal how closely Jesus is watching His followers. He had been watching the believers from heaven and He knew who were faithful. He is watching us today, too. But note that Jesus told of the future prospects of those who were faithful as well. He said they would walk with Him in heaven, dressed in white. Doesn’t that prove that it is worthwhile to follow Him faithfully? What He said will apply to us, too.

“Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy.” Revelation 3:4 (NIV)
