God’s promises reveal what kind of a God He is. He never changes, nor do His promises. The Lord was reminding His people through Jeremiah that what He had told them centuries earlier was still true. He had told them that His love for them was everlasting. It would not change, so He still loved them. God’s love for us is everlasting. Even though we fail Him, He still loves us. Regardless of what happens, His love endures. The same is true of His promises. Think of what God promised you, maybe long ago, that promise is still true. That is because His love is for always.
