April 1

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,” 1 Peter 1:8 (NIV)

Let’s think of whom it was that wrote these words. It was Peter who had walked with Jesus for three years. Though Peter wasn’t perfect, he did love His Lord. Now he was writing to people who had not had a chance to see Jesus or to be with Him. But he realized that many people would experience the presence of Jesus by faith and they would love Him. Hasn’t that been true for you? Knowing Jesus by faith brings a special joy that we cannot express. We can experience what Peter wrote about – “being filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy!”
