Jesus had told his followers that He would die at Jerusalem, but He gave the people the opportunity to praise Him before that. The verse tells us what the crowds were saying as they welcomed Him. They were looking and hoping for an earthly king to free them from domination. That’s what they were thinking about. Today we can acclaim Him as King – the King of our lives – an Eternal King. We can use the same words and acknowledge His Kingship and Lordship.

March 20 - Palm Sunday
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Luke 19:38 (NIV)
