These are the words of John the Baptist spoken about Jesus when He was just beginning His ministry. This was three years before Jesus died on the cross, but God in heaven knew, and Jesus knew that he had come to die for us. And God had revealed this fact to John. When we think of Jesus dying on the cross, let’s remember that He did it for us. He was God’s lamb sacrificed for you and for me – to take away our sins. And he HAS taken them away as we have put our trust in Him. Praise His Name!

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 (NIV)
