“The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126:3 (NIV)

This psalm is a song of praise to God by the people who had come back from captivity. We can understand how those who had been away from their homes as exiles were thrilled to be back home again, free to begin living in their own places. They were full of joy and praise to God. We may not have been exiled from our earthly homes but we can praise God for bringing us into His family. We were strangers to His family but He has made us His children. Has not He shown us so often how much He loves us and how He will take care of us? We were not worthy but He is a great God. We can join with the Old Testament saints in singing this song.
