Have you ever asked yourself just how great God’s love for you is? You realize that there is no way to measure it, and yet this verse is an attempt to compare the greatness of God’s love with something else. This comparison doesn’t bring us any closer to measuring that love for us. Who knows how high the heavens are above the earth? The experts can tell us how many light years away certain stars are, but they keep on finding more on beyond. So how great is His love? It’s immeasurable, beyond comprehension. Even though we don’t understand it, we can praise God and thank Him for that love.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth so great is His love for those who fear Him.” Psalm 103:11 (NIV)
