If we are children of God by faith in His son, Jesus Christ, this should affect the way we live. If we are God’s children, we should resemble our heavenly Father should we not? This is the idea express in our verse today. We base our expectation of the future on the promises of God. He has promised to care for us here in this life and to give us a glorious future in heaven. These promises are sure because God is faithful and He will do what he has promised. If he is unswerving faithful, we must be unswerving in our confidence in what he has promised

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promises is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)
