“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3
Perfect Peace. Is not that what we long for, a peace in the heart which nothing can disturb? Does that sound too good to be true? According to our verse, where would such inner peace come from? The prophet says it comes from God. It is God, and only He, who can keep us in perfect peace. You perhaps noticed who it is wo can experience this inner peace. It is the person who trusts in God. When someone trusts in the Lord, his mind is steady because it is fixed on someone who is steady. And if the mind is anchored to a steady point, it can’t be disturbed. Isn’t that what perfect peace is?
